Frequently Asked Questions
The Story Behind Fullbar
From Michael, Fullbar creator:
In working at my nationally recognized Bariatric Center of Excellence, I came to
realize that there was a gap in what I could provide to people. Sure, I was treating
those who had severe obesity, but what about everyone else?
Now fast forward 4 years and over 50 formula changes later! Together with a food
scientist, we created Fullbar, which uses the same principles in weight-loss surgery
to help you lose weight. Fullbar's all natural ingredients help increase the sense
of fullness that you feel before your main meal so that you eat what you want, but
not as much. You still achieve appetite satisfaction, but with less food. When you
don't have hunger pains, dieting is easier and you lose weight. Click here to view our TV ad that tells you more about how weight-loss
surgery works and how Fullbar uses those same principles.
We put Fullbar to the test and found that after a 3-month weight-loss study, people
lost an average of 40% of their excess weight and 95% of trial participants were
successful in losing weight!*
* Individual results may vary.
How might I actually SAVE MONEY by using Fullbar?
Fullbar - The Weight Loss Method that Works and that you can AFFORD!
In fact, you may even SAVE MONEY by using Fullbar. The Fullbar formula is a simple
one. Enjoy a Fullbar and 8-16 ounces of water 30 minutes before you are going to
eat a meal. After eating your Fullbar, you will be more in control of your hunger
and already starting to feel fuller. When you feel full, you eat less. When you
eat less, you lose weight. With Fullbar you can eat real food; you will just want
to eat less of it, and you will lose weight.
How much less am I going to eat?
During trial studies, 95% of the people who had 10 or more pounds to lose lost an
average of 11.5 pounds in 12 weeks. A pound represents 3500 calories. That means
that participants had about 40,250 calories in weight lost! They ate 12 Fullbars
per week and ate them for 12 weeks at an average of 170 calories each. That means
they ate an additional 24,480 calories in bars alone. The trial members lost the
calories of the Fullbar AND the weight lost. They lost a whopping 64,730 calories!!
Fullbar use displaces a lot of calories - those from the bars themselves in addition
to calories not eaten due to the feeling of fullness before meals.
How much would eating those 64,730 calories cost?
If you were to eat those calories in a restaurant or from a fast food window the
savings would really add up fast!
64,730 calories is like eating:
- 231 6" Subway sandwiches around $4 and 280 calories each - that would cost you $925
- 76 servings of lasagna from Olive Garden around $6 and 858 calories each - that
would cost you $528
- 124 Chicken Taco Salads around $5 and 520 calories each - that would cost you $620
- 432 servings of Chinese Beef with Broccoli around $5 and 150 calories each - that
would cost you $2,158
Even if you did your best to prepare meals at home with items bought from your local
grocery store the savings of using Fullbar shows in your wallet and on your waistline!
64,730 calories is like eating:
- 380 4 oz. servings of lean ground beef around $0.28/oz and 170 calories - that would
cost you $426
- 1078 servings of Starkist Solid White Albacore canned tuna around $0.73/serving
and 60 calories - that would cost you $787
- 239 servings of Barilla Spaghetti Noodles with Ragu Tomato Sauce flavored with meat
around $0.69/serving and 270 calories - that would cost you $523
- 963 servings of Progressive Light Chicken Noodle Soup around $1.50/serving and 70
calories - that would cost you $1387
- 674 servings of Yoplait fat free yogurt around $0.75/serving and 100 calories -
that would cost you $485
- 269 South Beach Frozen Kung Pau Chicken meals around $3.25/serving and 250 calories
- that would cost you $841
- 210 Lean Cuisine Frozen lasagna meals around $2.50 and 320 calories - that would
cost you $525
- 337 servings of Special K Red Berry Cereal with a serving of fat free milk around
$0.49/serving and 200 calories - that would cost you $316
144 Fullbars could cost you $288. That small investment toward reaching your weight
loss goals will more than pay for itself in food not eaten as you can see!
If Fullbar is a weight-loss tool, why are there
no weight-loss ingredients in the bar?
The biggest challenge to any weight-loss diet or program is controlling hunger and
cravings. Weight-loss surgery works as a hunger-management tool so that when an
individual who has had surgery eats, he or she feels full on much less food. This
fullness leads to appetite satisfaction, so that he or she is much less inclined
to overeat. Thus, he or she loses weight.
This is why bariatric surgery is so successful at helping people lose weight. Consider
this: Dr. Snyder, Fullbar's creator, has performed more than 2000 surgeries and
has helped people lose almost 150,000 collective pounds! If surgery is so effective
as a hunger-management tool, can a product be created that has the same effect without
surgery?
Fullbar works on the same principle; it is a hunger management tool. When you eat
a bar before a main meal, you feel full and thus eat less of your main meal, yet
still feel the appetite satisfaction we all crave after a meal. It is a simple and
healthy tool that doesn't need any potentially health compromising weight-loss additives
to be effective.
Dr. Snyder and Dr. Robert Lothrop, our food scientist, worked for over 4 years to
develop Fullbar with the following principles:
- Fullbar uses normal everyday natural food ingredients which, in combination, have
a significant effect on fullness (click here for the bar ingredients
and be sure to click the nutrition facts link for each bar flavor)
- Fullbar is not designed to suppress appetite...the ingredients, when put in the
stomach, simply have the affect of telling your brain that it is full.
- Fullbar is not designed to increase metabolism...its a hunger management tool.
Fullbar is not like any other diet because its not a diet! It simply helps you eat
less of your main meals, so you successfully loose weight, yet still achieve appetite
satisfaction. No more diets that keep you from sharing valuable meal time with your
friends and family, these are important moments in your full life!
What is the Best Way to Use Fullbar?
Fullbar is best eaten 12 times per week. This plan allows for two bars per day on
each of the weekdays, Monday through Friday. Then you can choose one of the following:
- Two bars on one of the weekend days and none on the other weekend day or
- One bar on Saturday and one bar on Sunday.
Either of these plans will allow you to get a recommended "break for cheats" on
Saturday and/or Sunday.
So, to help you understand how we arrive at a 3-month supply of 144 Fullbars: at
12 bars per week (10 bars from Monday through Friday and 2 bars on the weekend),
that is 48 bars per month, and 144 bars for 3 months.
Plan some cheats! Perfect is boring and cannot be maintained. If you allow for reasonable
cheats, you will not be overwhelmed by your temptations. No impulse eating is required.
You will KNOW that you are supposed to cheat on the planned days and times!
This is a recommended program that we find works well for people. but feel free
to experiment and adjust the use of Fullbar to your partcular needs. Some people
have told us that they use Fullbar as a snack in-between meals to help them with
their food cravings.
What is the difference Between Fullbar and Meal
Replacement/Supplement Bars?
Fullbar was not originally designed as a meal-replacement bar. We do not fortify
it with ingredients to approximate or replace a meal. Its main purpose is to help
increase the sense of fullness that you feel before your main meal so that you eat
what you want, but not as much. You still achieve appetite satisfaction, but with
less food. When you don't have hunger pains, dieting is easier.
Dr. Snyder, the Fullbar creator, performs weight-loss surgeries to help people control
their hunger. Thus, they eat less and lose weight. He designed Fullbar to control
hunger, the same way as in weight-loss surgery, but without the surgery. It is comprised
of natural ingredients to help give you a sense of fullness.
People do tell us that they use Fullbar as a meal replacement or as a snack in-between
meals to help control cravings. You can decide for yourself how best to use Fullbar.
How is Fullbar different than a regular granola
bar or just eating bran with water?
Our food scientist, Robert, is the best person to answer this question.
Research regarding satiety shows that it is not simply achieved by eating a fiber
source such as bran; there needs to be a combination of ingredients to provoke the
response (this would be one reason why after drinking a fiber supplement, one does
not feel satisfied). The combination of ingredients is: a fiber source, a protein
source, shear bulk with low calories as well as water. This combination has the
best effect in specific ratios which we have perfected here at FullBar™. So,
yes it is much different than eating some bran and water before a meal, plus it
tastes much better.
Why Do You Suggest A 3-Month Supply?
We did a weight-loss study with Fullbar that was 3 months long. On average, 95%
of the people in the study lost weight, with the average weight loss being 11 pounds.
We want you to have the same kind of success and recommend using Fullbar over the
same period of time to get the benefits experienced by the people in our study.
Is Fullbar Appropriate for Diabetics?
We will give you three different perspectives on the use of Fullbar.
- From a Diabetic who tried Fullbar;
- From Dr. Michael A. Snyder, Fullbar creator and a Bariatric Surgeon, who has a great
deal of experience in managing carbohydrate issues and diabetes in his weight-loss
patients;
- And, from Robert Lothrop, Fullbar's developer and food scientist.
From Debbie, Age 40 years old. Type I Diabetes Mellitus, insulin dependent**:
In summary, your bars are GREAT! I have found that I take 1.5 units of insulin w/each
bar. My ratio for carb to insulin is 1:15 in the afternoon and evening. Your bar
has the same effect on my blood sugar as a large fuji apple. I took the same amount
of insulin for a large apple (1.5 units). I think the bar is more filling than an
apple. I just wanted you to know, I eat a bar once a day at breakfast. I take 2
units in the morning to cover my blood sugar. I even have a bar for a snack at school
for lunch. Your bars are the best. They are not sugary, they don't leave me craving
other carbs after I eat them. All other bars have to much sugar in them, thus leaving
more hungry after I eat the bar. I like all the flavors. I really don't consider
your bars, bars. I consider them food. I think that is the biggest difference to
me. They are great for any diabetic. Just FYI, for any other bar I eat at lunch
or dinner, I always, always take 2 units per bar. Your bar, I only take 1.5 units.
I think it is the fiber that helps with the lower intake of insulin w/the Fullbar.
I also send the bars in my kids backpacks. My daughter said she has given many bars
to her friends. They all seem to enjoy them as well. I really think you guys are
on to something great. Good luck. Below is my blood sugar numbers for the bar/apple
blood sugar comparision. I used a large fuji apple.
Here is my information comparing and showing the impact of the apple and the FullBar
on me, each with 1.5 units of regular insulin to manage thecarbohydrate impact:
- Day 1 BAR
12:15p: blood sugar before eating the bar: 110
1.5 units Reg insulin taken
2:15p: blood sugar: 107
- Day 2 BAR
12:45p: blood sugar before eating the bar: 127
1.5 units Reg insulin taken
2:40p: blood sugar: 133
- Day 3 APPLE
11:46a: blood sugar before eating apple: 128
1.5 units Reg insulin taken
1:40p: blood sugar: 136
- Day 4 APPLE
12:55p blood sugar before eating apple: 87
1.5 units Reg insulin taken
2:55p: blood sugar: 76

From Dr. Michael A. Snyder
Although not specifically formulated for diabetics, in America today, many people
who suffer from diabetes have weight issues. So, it goes to follow that controlling
one¹s weight is often a cornerstone of diabetes treatment. We have shown in our
clinical trials that people who used Fullbar for 3 months have an average of 42%
loss of excess body weight. If you feel that this would be beneficial to you, then
by all means discuss this with your primary MD and consider trying it. People who
have tried it have told us that the money they save from their appetite control
more than makes up for the money spent on the bars. See our web site for an itemization
of the all-natural and Kosher contents--www.fullbar.com. Also, this will allow you
to calculate the effect on your sugars with consumption, noting that you will most
likely be eating fewer calories and effective carbs with the bars¹ use. I think
that you will be pleased. The results of our marketing efforts have been very strong
nationally. People WANT this type of control. And satisfaction is very high!!
From our Food Scientist, Robert Lothrop
Most pieces of fruit have about 15 grams of carbohydrates; for instance an average
apple has about 14 grams of carbohydrates of which 11 grams are sugar. Most diabetic
patients are eating an apple every now and then. A piece of bread has about the
same.

Does Fullbar have any processed sugar?
We do not add processed sugar to Fullbar. The sugar in a Fullbar, which is about
as much as an apple, are natural sources of sugar such as brown rice syrup, agave
syrup and honey.
Some of the individual ingredients in the bars, such as the dried cranberries, the
chocolate chips and the caramel, have small amounts of processed sugar.
If you would like a bar without any form of processed sugar, the Peanut Butter
Crunch bar is for you!
Is Fullbar intended as a replacement for weight-loss
surgery?
Fullbar is simple and safe and although it uses the same principles as weight-loss
surgery, it is not a replacement. Dr. Snyder originally designed this product to
broaden his reach and be of help to those who are not candidates for surgery and
common guidelines apply. If you have a BMI of 40 or higher, surgery may be a good
option for you (What is BMI?). Surgery eliminates a time factor that may be necessary
to control diseases like diabetes and other severe obesity health risks. Still,
Fullbar can be there for you in recovery, as it has been used by post-op patients
as a tool to control hunger. Use Fullbar well and make the right choice for you
and your needs and as always consult your doctor.
Does Fullbar have a return policy?
Fullbar offers a full 30 day money-back guarantee, minus the cost of shipping and
handling. If for any reason you are not satisfied with Fullbar, return the unused
